Art is so much more than paint on board – it can speak to your heart, invoke powerful emotions, conjure long-forgotten memories, and take your breath away.
I’m Melanie Cormack-Hicks, a fine artist based in the beautiful Cotswolds. I create contemporary paintings of the nature and landscapes I love, working from my studio, the woodlands and meadows that surround it, or the pebbled beaches of the rugged Devon coastline.

After working for many years as an art teacher I went full time as an independent artist, making career doing what I love. As satisfying as painting is (and I love, love, love doing it) I still had the urge to help others find their own visual voice. The constraints of traditional art classes never felt comfortable and I didn't want to teach people to 'paint like me'. I wanted to teach people to paint like THEM.
